How to play Mastermind

1. Make a room. Type your name, tap Create a room and send the five-character code (or the link) to your friends. Phones and laptops can share a room.
2. There is a secret code of coloured pegs. Make a guess; you are told how many pegs are the right colour in the right place (✓) and how many are the right colour in the wrong place (↔).
3. Use that to narrow it down. You have ten guesses. Your guesses are yours alone; others only see how many you have used.
4. The fewest guesses cracks it best (speed breaks a tie): 10 points, then 7, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1.

Settings

The host can change these in the room before starting:

• Codes: 1 to 8 (default 3).
• Seconds per code: 60 to 600 seconds (default 240 seconds).
• Code length: 4 pegs, 5 pegs (default 4 pegs).
• Colours: 6 colours, 8 colours (default 6 colours).
• Repeat colours: No, Yes (default No).
